I took some Halloween Pics of my house and never posted them. In fact, I haven't posted much. I don't know where the days, weeks, or months go but here we are in November. Didn't get as many trick'r'teaters as last year. I guess the kids in my development are getting older and Halloween has lost it's luster for them, but never for me.
I haven't posted a card in a long time and wanted to get my act together so I finally sat down to decipher the changes Stamp'in Up recently made. By changes, I mean re-vamping their entire product line. I didn't realize the magnitude of the changes until I recently decided to go through the new catalog and pull out the old and replace with whatever new I have. I was speechless when I looked on the floor and saw more than 1/2 of my 8 1/2" x 11" card stock in the pile of "retired". Then I realized I had the 12" x 12" paper to go through as well. And, of course, let's not forget the Designer Series Paper, that's all new as well. Markers have to be discarded, stamp pads, ribbon, brads, on and on the list goes. The new colors and wonderful as well as the In colors, but to retire almost 1/2 of the original colors just goes beyond. I have to empty out my piggy bank to re-stock.
I'm still taking inventory and when that is done, I'll have to sit down and decided what exactly I'll need to fill my empty shelves. I love Stampin' Up products, but I'm broke. At least they didn't go haywire with the stamp sets. Not too many of those retired. And we won't even talk about the accessories. I'm exhausted just thinking about it.
We haven't had card club in a long time so the incentive to make a card just isn't there and if I do need to make a card, I basically just make that one.
I've been doing alot of other swaps for a few Yahoo Groups I'm in and that's been taking up alot of my time. So, I hope, this weekend I can complete my disposing and adding of Stampin' Up paraphernalia.
What a fabulous Concert. The opening act was Semi-Precious Weapons - weird but entertaining. Lady GaGa's set list included: Dance in the Dark, Just Dance, Love Game, Alejandro, Monster, So Happy I Could Die, Teeth, Poker Face, The Fame, Money Honey, Beautiful, Dirty Rich, Boys Boys Boys, Paper Gansta, Poker Face, Poparazzi - Encore: Bad Romance.
It was extremely theatrical. Just like a Broadway Show. She has a strong voice and a scream louder than anyone I've ever heard. The "Little Monsters" were quite satisfied. My cousin even had his face painted for the occasion.
What a great sport !!!!!

I have a Bernina 220 and the cabinet is a Horn. It was purchased on Ebay from Ken's Sewing and Vacuum store. I got it at a great price because they were discontinuing that color wood - Albany Oak. I have some cubicles under the drop out which store more of my Sizzix dies. I bought them at Michaels - 40% off sale. They were super easy to put together.
The curtains were purchased at Pottery Barn Kids, as well as the baskets and pretty pink and green fabric inserts and the area rug. The valance, which I'm in the process of making now, are from sheers that I bought from Pottery Barn Kids. Bed, Bath and Beyond was the place to go for the curtain rods and the pretty fancy pillows on the love seat.
It's amazing what a little paint can do. I can't wait until I get my counter. Once I put that in the middle of the room it will finally be complete. Here's a picture of the counter.
It has alot of storage and you can fold down a section of the top to make more room if needed around the work space. It's hard for me to figure out exactly how much I'll be able to store in it. I ordered it out of a catalog, it wasn't on the showroom floor. It is made by Bermex. It is counter height. I also bought a wonderful stool that swivels to go with it and a caster chair for my sewing machine table.
A part of me wants to get rid of the corner curio cabinet and get more of the wonderful shelves from Ballard Design. I also got the bench with the cushions there as well. The other shelf I will use to store my paint bottles. It will be nice to finally see what I have right there in front of me instead of rummaging through drawers. That shelf is from Making Memories. It's called the Making Memories Embellishment Center. You can get them at Michaels.
Here is a better look at the cubby shelf. I plan on storing my buttons and beads. The shelf is from Pottery Barn (not Kids) and the Pin board was also purchased from their catalog.
I also purchased a ribbon storage rack it's very popular and I found it on Amazon. I have a CD holder underneath the cubby. My Sizzix dies fit perfectly in them. The little accent table on the side of the sofa was purchased from Bed, Bath & Beyond. They assembled it for me. I also have my ironing board hanging on the wall. It's so convenient. I also purchased a thread holder that I mounted on my pin-board, works out great.
Well I hope you enjoyed the "preview" of my sewing room. There's still lots more to get done, but I'm off to a great start. At least I can work in the room now without running all over the house for my stuff.

I've been busy with re-decorating my new sewing room. I will post before and after pictures. What an amazing difference a little paint makes. I love my new room. It's so bright and cheerful. So I've been so caught up with that project, plus getting my houses ready for the Summer that I've neglected my poor blogs. I will post more of the "Blessings" I have embroidered, along with a few pictures of my new room. I am waiting on a counter-height table that will go in the center of the room and an artist stand.
The Summer is here and I will be going to the beach more often which means some relaxing time to work on my emboidery. I am stitching Brooke's Summer House for a challenge over at "bbinterative" a Yahoo group I belong to. You can see some of Brooke's work at: http://www.brookesbooks.com. I'm also working on a mini-quilt for another Yahoo Group. The mini-quilt theme is "things that fly".

I've joined a Stich-a-long started by Amy. She is challenging herself to stich 100 1" blocks. I will try to do 50 and see where I go from there. As you can guess from the heading, we will be "counting our blessings". Each block will represent something we are thankful for. Everyday I will stitch a block or two and post it on my blog. If any of you have a suggestion or would like to share what you're thankful for, I will try to design a block for that.
I started my list and so far I have 57 things to be thankful for and probably alot more that I haven't even thought of yet, but as I think of them I will add them to the list. The only problem is trying to figure out what the heck I'm going to draw and then, in turn, embroider. I better get to the drawing board and figure it out. I will start as soon as I get my fabric in a day or two, so keep checking.
The absolute proof that Summer is right around the corner. YIPPEE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
